Palace Shanghai
Palace Shanghai draws inspiration from Yu Yuan Garden — one of the city's most iconic landmarks — and the historic Zhangyuan building, reinterpreting their architectural language through Palace's DNA.
Stone tiles and limestone reference the garden's ponds, pavilions and walkways, blended with mirrored surfaces and gold and red tones celebrating Chinese heritage. The original Zhangyuan facade is respectfully preserved, with a bold three-dimensional mirrored Tri-ferg rising from the rooftop, angled downward to greet visitors on arrival — planting Palace's identity onto a piece of Shanghai history. The Palace bulldog peers out from within the window, watching over the street from inside the historic building.
Inside, LED columns line the entrance pathway into a pavilion-like interior. On the terrace, a pond-inspired feature hosts a penjing tree island on one side and the Palace cherub on the other — Chinese cultural heritage and Palace identity, side by side.
